Preferred Lab - University of Kansas Health System
About your Benefits
Active State Employees, Non State Employer Group, and NON-MEDICARE Retiree/Direct Bill Members
The University of Kansas Health System has negotiated rates for laboratory work for the State Employee Health Plan (SEHP). All state employees and dependents who are enrolled in one of the medical plans, and who have health system providers can have blood drawn at their provider’s office or at any one of the conveniently located health system outpatient walk-in laboratories. You do not have to have a health system provider to have your lab work done at one of the outpatient walk-in laboratories.
Test results will be transmitted to your ordering provider in a timely manner. Your test results will be available for you to view in MyChart.
Plan A
The University of Kansas Health System Lab will draw specimens and process the lab work at negotiated rates. Your health plan will pay the claim at 100 percent of the allowable charge (no deductibles, copayments, or coinsurance) for lab services.
Plans C, J, and N
The University of Kansas Health System lab will draw specimens and process the lab work at negotiated rates. Your health plan provider will notify you of the amount you owe until your deductible is met.
